The Summer Solstice and Mars Retrograde

Magickal Fairy Dust for you!

Another year is ending - a new one soon beginning.  One of the last, if not the last, big celestial happening for the year is the Solstice.  For us here in the Southern Hemisphere - we celebrate the Summer Solstice - for our friends in the North - theirs is the Winter Solstice.

The Solstice -when the great Sun in our sky slows, stops and changes direction - is a significant time - a 'turning point'.

Some believe that the Solstice - which usually falls between 21st - 22nd December - was the origins of our Christmas celebrations today.
(This does not in anyway imply the insignificance of the birth of Jesus)

It does signify the importance of this time for many cultures and civilizations.  The Sun was recognised as supporting life for humans here on Earth and it's importance was respected and revered.

Many rituals were celebrated during this time.  It was considered a time of life, of renewal, of rebirth - of new beginnings.

Within our modern culture, most of us no longer honour our Sun in that manner.  Of course, many still do celebrate Solstice time - but it is not generally a part of our current rituals.

That, of course, has its implications - we have, as modern people, moved further and further away from our natural world - our basic roots.  We've forgotten how much we depend on the natural world for our survival here on Earth.  Our brains have become used to automation - we sometimes believe that we are more capable than we are.

We have grown to value 'things' rather than 'life'.  Our worlds have become unbalanced - with more and more things - giving us less and less.

Yes - we are at a major turning point.

So with the turning point of the Solstice - I have an opportunity to use this energy to stop, review and reassess my life, my direction, my understanding and my contribution.

We are all affected by the many 'energies' around us - including those of the movement of the planets - whether we are conscious of them or not.

The Sun still is a major contributor to our life here on Earth - we would not exist without him.  So at this significant 'turning point' - as our Sun slows, stops and changes direction - he offers us his energy to do the same.

Added to the highly energetic time of the Solstice is the planet Mars going 'retro' - meaning he starts to go backwards (or at least appears to do so to us here on Earth).  When a planet goes retrograde - she/he revisits previous steps, goes over old ground, goes back to visit previous bits of the journey.

Mars is travelling through the constellation of Leo at present.  Mars usually takes around 2 months to move throught a sign - but due to his extra long retrograde period this time - he will be travelling back and forth through Leo for 8 mths - that's about a record!!!

Mars began his retrograde late last night - around midnight on the 20th.  He will continue moving 'backwards' until mid March when he'll begin his forward movement again, completing his travels through Leo by June.

Mars represents action, movement, motivation and assertion and intention.  Mars doesn't 'do' backwards easily - his natural movement is to thrust himself forward with great energy and zest - he's intent on Action!

Leo loves to move too - Leo loves to create, make an impression, play and have fun.  So with the energy of Mars moving 'backwards' - then I reckon there'll be a lot more 'inner' stuff happening than 'outer'.

So we have both the Sun and Mars slowing, stopping and reversing within 24hrs - no wonder I'm feeling pooped!!!

The Sun and Mars both represent extroverted and active energy - promoting and putting self forward.

Physical energy could be low for people now - especially Leo's - they'll have an even more direct hit of 'internalization' - so who is the major star of your internal play?  Who's the director?  Who calls the shots?  Who's giving the orders?

Where am I going?  What am I doing?  Where do I want to focus my life energy?

Yes dear friends - big times are already around us - and appear to be also on the horizon for 2010.  With this extra push to review and renew during these last days of our 2009 year here on Earth - and the end year of the first decade of the 21st century.

The 'energy' of the Solstice time will colour our happenings until March next year - the next 'turning point' of the Sun - this also being the time that Mars is moving backwards.

So what is this saying - well I reckon a lot of focus on inner, personal reviewing.  A time for us all to walk back a little on our path and look at it with fresh eyes - is this the way I really want to go?  Is this what I really want to do?

Review times are a gift - as so often we move so quickly through our lives that we become automated, unconscious, reactionary - we do, without thinking, we speak without feeling.  We forget that we have a divine consciousness and innate clarity - that we are human beings, 'made in the image of god' - and we have immense ability and potential to use our 'higher' facilities.

Religions have always reminded us that the '7 sins' will always lead us to destruction - but do we listen.
How many of these 'sins' are intertwined into our very systems - have become automatic ways of engaging.

Yes a review time is well and truely needed - a gift from the heavens.

lots of love to you all
may peace, love and the truest and greatest happiness dwell in your heart always

The Cardinal Climax - from where I stand

The sky's are changing!

After an intensive time of 'processing' - body manifestations and subsequent letting go's - the 'other' side seems new and unfamiliar.

'What do I know?' 'What do I believe?' 'Where do I stand?'

So the steps forward are taken with trepidation. If I open my mouth what will come out? If I put my hand to write, what will appear? A new place, a new frontier.

So often change is feared by us as uncertainty is often followed by anxiety. How can I see what I do not know? How can I trust the unseen? How can I walk where I've never been? How to I set my course?

So we sit, sit in the same chair, the same room, the same house, the same neighbourhood, the same friends, the same work, the same thoughts, the same fears - the same, same, same and we wonder why we become bored!!!

Change is as natural as the air we breathe - the cycles of life continue their motion, moving around and around. Did you know that you are not the person you were one minute ago? You aren't - many changes have already taken place in your body and the environment in which you stand. Nothing is the same - nothing is unchangeable?
We live in an illusion of security - a security of things remaining the same. Is it ponderable that life is a continual movement of creation, destruction, rebirth and evolution? A constant renewal!

And here we stand in 2009 - a time of such gynormous change, that the profound possibility exists that our home, our dear Mother Earth may in a short time be untenable!

Stymied at every turn by those whose consciousness appears still to be slumbering - the peace warriors are rebuked!

The years 2008 - 2012 are significant indeed for us and our planet. In our human history, we have not been at this point before. These are big times indeed!

The science of Astrology offers us the tools to read the 'signs' and understand the cycles of change that envelop us. The use of Astrology for these purposes has been with us for thousands of years. Many great and distinguished 'scholars' have used this science. And it is with us, still today.

More that just your familiar Sun Sign reading in the newspaper or magazine (which nearly everyone reads by the way) Astrology can be used for understanding the world around us, the trends, the possible futures and more importantly an understanding of why things are happening the way they are.

The years 2008 - 2012 have been spoken and written about by many Astrologers over many years. This time have been pointed to as one to be consciously aware of. As true awareness is needed now. No more time for stumbling in the dark, relying on others to show us the way, reneging on our own personal responsibility. Judgement day has arrived!

The 'Cardinal Climax' is something familiar to all Astrologers and many have written wonderful articles about the period of time.

'Cardinal' in Astrology is a quality - with the characteristics of enterprise, initiating action, providing leadership, forceful and dynamic!

The Cardinal signs are Capricorn, Libra, Aries and Cancer. Cardinal signs like to get things done, they are active, quick and ambitious.

The Cardinal Climax describes the nature and relationship between planets - Pluto, Uranus and Saturn - the major 'movers' of our endeavours here on Earth. Pluto and Saturn are already in a Cardinal sign - Capricorn and Uranus move there early in 2011.

The relationship between Pluto and Saturn each sitting in their space of 'liking to get things done' - is tense indeed. They are challenging each other, and each on their own is a formidable opponent! They individually carry great weight and power to influence all they touch! They are no lightweights.

Saturn is all about control - as is Pluto - you could call them both control freaks! Saturn is also about the establishment, the foundations of our creations, the old, the tried and true - Pluto, well dear Pluto is all about annihilation - but of course with the purest intention! We may need to remember that! Pluto only destroys what is no longer viable - what no longer works and what will endanger our progress ahead - so watch out world!!! 'Cause there's plenty of that around!

Pluto is intense, very, very intense - his work is deep, very, very deep - so what is rotten, forget it - it's going!

So they are both intent on making things happen - they are both dynamic and forceful - and they both sit at a turning point - a turning point in our world, in our lives here on Earth.

Then along comes Uranus - the unstoppable force of new age ideas, whose time is NOW - his sudden and shocking awakenings - his energy is electrical - he lives in the future not in the past and he guides humanities principles not little egotistical self-centred obsessions - boy oh boy are we in for a ride! He has no time for Saturn's clinging to the past and obsessing over holding on to outworn 'traditions'. Uranus and Saturn have been battling it out for over a year now - this has been a tiny peak of what lies ahead of us. Change, no, stay the same, the old, no the new, humanity, no the individual, sustainability, no, profit. . . . . . . . . . the show has begun!

The Cardinal Climax describes the energy of these two outer and one social planets challenging each other to a dual. They will sit in a T-Square alignment - a position of great challenge and possible difficulty. But, and there is always a but - great learning, great transformation is before us and available to us.

An opportunity like never before - a time to take a step, greater than we ever have - to evolve into a superior human being - one directed by clarity, true intelligence, heart awareness and superior qualities - our birth right. An opportunity to turn our world from the precipice at which it stands - to hear Mother Earth's cry and respond - because we can and we will.

These are great times indeed!

2010 is considered by some to be a year of great transition - I believe it is one to be well prepared for - create your havens where you can be safe and nurtured and as the winds blow furiously remember there is a 'reason for this madness' - this is a time of great healing. So get on board and take your part!

What a clever girl!

A Brilliant piece of communication on the Gemini Full Moon!

This was written by Julia Bond at Moon Circles website - i was amazed at her ingenuity and sensibility - what a simply great idea.
Maybe it can be sent to Kevin!

much love

"As I thought about this problem creatively, the solution suddenly seemed simple and elegant, a people’s bailout. There are approximately 300 million of us in the United States. For less than half a billion dollars each individual could receive one million dollars and each family could receive 2 million dollars. Yes, this sounds impossible; after all, it is a lot of money. However, remember that AIG has received nearly 185 billion dollars to date; this half of 1 billion is a drop in the bailout bucket. The people’s bailout would be, to a life raft to Americans, small business and to the economic recovery. No, it would not make sense to simply hand out millions to Americans for just any purpose; it would need to help heal the economy and be a one time bailout. We all have social security accounts into which the Treasury could deposit this money for five specific purposes – to either purchase a home or pay off an existing mortgage, to pay for a college education or pay off student loans, to pay off previously accumulated credit card debt, to start or support a small business, or to buy solar panels or other specified green improvements to a home. In this way, Americans could get a fresh start; the banks could be relieved of credit card debt, mortgage debt and student loan debt; more of us could be educated to improve our productivity in this global world; our homes could become greener lowering energy consumption; and small business could be recharged. This would be a win-win for America, Americans and the economy."
